extendYoga strives to provide a positive, nurturing environment that challenges individuals to extend themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We believe in giving back to the community by participating in various charitable causes, and offering community classes and events.

We are conveniently located in North Bethesda between the White Flint and Twinbrook Metro stations and readily accessible from Bethesda, Rockville and Silver Spring. Just off of Randolph Road (northbound) and Twinbrook Parkway (southbound), we have ample, free parking.

Feature Teacher

Donna Martin, RYT200, began her yoga practice over 12 years ago. She walked into a neighborhood yoga studio took the next class offered and went back to this studio 6 days a week for the next 2 years. She has been practicing and studying ever since. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that the practice itself is the great teacher. Her teaching philosophy is to guide the people in front of her as they are on that particular day in that moment. Her classes focus on safe and effective alignment from the ground up. Her classes incorporate Ashtanga Vinyasa — a traditional practice dedicated to a precise coordination of breath, movement, posture and gaze with alignment-based guidance and individualized modifications. She is first and foremost a student and continues her study in asana alignment and Yoga therapy with Doug Keller and Shannon Von Burns. She practices Ashtanga Vinyasa with Jen Rene, Peg Mulqueen, David Kyle and Tova Steiner. She is grateful to her 2 young children and supportive partner who make everything possible.
